The computing facilities within the department consist of numerous Pentium PC’s and a number of SGI workstations. All of the computers are networked. Commercial and custom software packages are available at IIT for FEM, CAD, heat treatment modelling, thermodynamic modelling, word-processing, spreadsheet, statistical process control and data plotting and analysis. Several computers with National Instruments data acquisition boards and LabView software are available for data acquisition from laboratory experiments.
